Last month I tore down something I'd spent hundreds of nights building.
I built my own custom AI harness, the system around the AI that tells it how to work. I called it Corporate OS, and it grew to about 80,000 lines of Python, hooks and an index of instructions and skills.
The AI models got better, and a lot of what I'd built started to matter less. I was spending more time maintaining it than building anything with it.
I rebuilt it down to what really matters. Tests and proof that the work does what it should are still mandatory, and each role still owns its part. This cost me subscription fees, a lot of time and some sanity.
Letting go of something I'd put that many nights into was the hardest part, and I'm pretty sure I'll have to do it again.
